Within a couple of days, the ship is set upon by a Keldravian Naval vessel and the Kraken! Tarot, who speaks with animals, discovers he can communicate with the Kraken, who follows the orders of the holder of the conch shell the enemy mage wears. The forces are split fairly evenly, and the mage aboard the enemy ship breaks off the fight. As they do, the “Keldravians” are revealed to be sharthak, the shark people. The Sea Ghost is damaged, however, and limps the remaining distance to Dar Enroqe.
